Training in Foreign Country

Situation:

• Manufacturing company wanted new inventory control software installed and used in 3rd party Asian warehouses.

• There is no budget for project. 

• Company cannot afford to send people to Taiwan to train and install software.

• Software is in English, but English is not the primary language

Solution:

• Developed a training program plan.

• Developed a website with instructional graphics and icons to download, install the software application. 

• Developed a web-based training program that included mini movies demonstrating each warehouse transaction and also an installation guide and user manual.

• Audio can be dubbed with different languages as additional foreign warehouses are acquired.

• Created an on-line help file to provide written instructions and reference documentation.

 Result:

• Cost to train employees was reduced by 75%.

• Reduced learning curve and eliminated language barrier.

• Easy to understand documentation resulted in faster, error-free material movement.

• Documentation and training can be easily adapted to other languages.
